Study Abroad

Although study abroad is a marvellously enriching experience, it does require planning ahead.

In order to help students prepare to write their senior theses (History 496), which is done in the fall of their senior year, the History Department requires students to complete two semesters of a junior research seminar (course range: HIST 400-420) in which students write miniature theses based on original research.

Ideally students would take one seminar in each semester of their junior year, but if a student would like to study abroad in his or her junior year, then he or she should take one semester in his or her sophomore year.
